1. Is it important for a language teacher to be ICT-competent?

Nowadays computerization is an essential part of our modern society. ICT is used from preschool to university and it facilitates students and teachers in teaching and learning process. The computers play significat role in the learning process especially in learning language. ICT helps to increase availability and flexibility of education. Educational process based on incorporating ICT into education leads to increasing the level of information and communication technologies of both teachers and students.However, there are some disadvantages. For instance, poor quality of ICT equipment as well as frequent breakdowns of service :(

But benefits definitely outweight negative aspects!

2. What is CALL?

CALL ( Computer Assisted Language Learning) is any process in which a learner uses a computer and, as a result, improves his or her language ( Beatty, K.).
